Kingaroy Kilkivan Rail Trail – low level water crossing

Posted by on Jun 25, 2018

During the investigations into the proposed development of the Kingaroy Kilkivan Rail Trail it was discovered that most of the original timber bridges had been removed. Various options for the waterway crossings were contemplated including stepping stones, low level bridges and concrete floodways. In some instances users are expected to traverse the creek at ground (creek bed) level. The best example of a low level crossing is illustrated below. When funding permits, it would be ideal if all waterway crossings could have a similar structure installed.
