New England Rail Trail

The Armidale Regional Council in NSW has appointed Mike Halliburton Associates to prepare a rail trail  plan for a section of the now disused Main North Line. Transplan Pty Ltd will be part of the team.

The aims of the project are twofold:

1. To prepare a master plan evaluating the potential for a rail trail on the disused rail corridor between Armidale and Glen Innes.
2. To prepare a detailed trail development plan for the proposed rail trail along the disused rail corridor between Black Mountain and Ben Lomond (a distance of approximately 34 kms).
