Murgon Proston Rail Trail Feasibility Study

Posted by on Sep 6, 2019

Once again Transplan Pty Ltd has teamed up with Mike Halliburton Associates of Brisbane to prepare a feasibility study for the proposed Murgon to Proston Rail Trail in SE Queensland.

The trail, if proved feasible and if constructed, would be a spur trail off the highly successful Kingaroy Kilkivan Rail Trail.

The disused railway corridor is approximately 42km long and traverses a variety of landscapes. Several kilometres of the corridor have been intensively cropped with no visible remains of the corridor evident.

All 27 bridges between Murgon and Proston have been removed apart from the concrete abutments of most of them.

A series of community consultation events (“Open Houses” or ‘drop in’ information sessions) are planned for mid-October.
