Kingaroy Kilkivan Rail Trail – timber bridge at Tingoora

Posted by on Jun 25, 2018

The Tingoora bridge on the Kingaroy Kilkivan Rail Trail is an excellent example of how an old timber railway bridge can be re-purposed for use as a cyclist/pedestrian bridge on a rail trail – providing the political will (and sufficient funding) is there. Reminders of the old railway (such as bridges, tunnels, embankments, cuttings, railway signage, etc) is exactly what excites and motivates people and makes rail trails such a desirable recreational experience.

Above: the old timber railway bridge has been restored for use on the Kingaroy Kilkivan Rail Trail.
